Not sure about the decor in here – I think we’re jarring. Isn’t that sideboard a little futuristic?

Never mind – let’s bee bop! We’re some cool cats y’know.

Wanna see what’s underneath?

See ya later, jitterbugs x

That is fab – definitely a skirt to do a twirl in.

This is just fantastic! Did yo make the petticoat too?

oooh no that was from the dressmaker who made my wedding dress! She makes them to go with the dresses. Here’s the link if anyone’s interested in vintage style wedding dresses/petticoats

That skirt is wonderful. I adore polka dots. And please, please tell me about those lovely shoes you are wearing.

Why thank you Sandy! Those shoes are from Office – they’re just a platform but so easy to walk in (I can’t do heels very well).

Great! It’s not a swing dance, but do you know about the Ceilidh Club in Camden: It’s an awesome night out and perfect for a skirt like yours.

I’m starting to like polka dots again too and have none in my closet –> I really like yours, and the petticoat under is so fun!

And thanks for the linky for making a tailor’s ham earlier. I’ve been wanting one too but balking at the price, and goodness knows I have bins and bins of fabric scraps, so something that “eats scraps” is just the ticket!

So pretty! I love the print. Would you mind sharing details about the actual length you used? I’m going to make one and am still in the planning stage for how much fabric to purchase. I love your length!

    • Joanne October 29, 2011 at 8:24 am #

Of course! The length is 28.5 inches long – that’s without the waistband.

I really love your skirt. Fantastic fabric colour and pattern!

    Great colour.
I’ve got a circle skirt in my future plans…I found it the easiest part of making the 1950′s dress (butterick walkaway) as part of a sew a long. Its just finding the right fabric.
Went to my first swing jive lesson on monday…superfun.
